Since its establishment in 1968, Mouldright , a locally owned and operated company, has manufactured in the Geelong region supplying quality timber products.. Its earlier days saw Mouldright producing many types of joinery works including kitchen cupboards and staircases, however, for the last 10 years the company has specialized in the production of timber windows and doors.

The window and door industry is a very difficult market in which to operate. Wet weather, rising building & manufacture costs and many other associated factors mean that now more than ever, a stable, quality motivated company with a long term future needs to be considered. Mouldright has been able to survive and continue to grow over the many years of manufacture, by endeavoring to provide a wide range of quality products.

Diversity in such a market is vital,. Mouldright offers it clients 3 different timber types, huge range of doors and windows, on-site or factory glazing with double glazing a specialty, combined with outstanding customer service all at a reasonable price.

All frames are constructed using trenches, galvanized nails driven in by hand as this ensures a much stronger join, sealed joins throughout and the use of a special glazing silicon which is in our opinion is far superior to the "truglaze" mastic used by many manufacturers. All sashes and doors are mortised and tennoned maximizing the strength of the joins. Our ability to match existing works is well renowned, as is our attention to detail when organizing a quotation for our clients to ensure we meet all their needs when construction begins. Our quotation is clearly illustrated, shows all that has been included, glass types being used, all specifics relative to each window or door unit, everything that will be constructed is in front of you in a very easy to understand format.

Some competitors use nail guns to assemble frames, or in some cases staples, but we feel a driven in nail by hand gives the strongest join so have not chosen to sacrifice quality for speed. Some competitors use skinnier timber sections to construct window frames and sashes from, but we feel that providing solid, strong windows that are made to last, more important than producing the cheapest using bare essentials. I guess it's the small but important things that set us aside from the rest, we make our windows as tradesmen did many years ago, by hand, from quality timbers, using the best construction methods, rather than make a window shell and rely on the wall to hold it together.

There has been a concerted effort from some large manufacturers to stop smaller joineries producing custom windows in the fashion that we do. They would much rather everyone buy modular window standard sizes so that they could take over the entire market. To combat this, smaller companies have banded together under the banner of "WADIC" (the Window And Door Industry Council), to not only attempt to ensure our long term survival, but also continue to provide people with something that we feel is very important.......what they want!!

Some people are quite happy to buy standard size windows, and that's fine we cater for them no problem at all. But we also cater for those of us that want something different, that want a window a certain size, that want a taller than normal door, that want a curved head, that want a circular porthole window, a garden window with glazed roof, and without being penalized for it. At Mouldright all our windows and doors are custom made to suit you, not the other way around, and we think that is the way it should be.

Mouldright Joinery has withstood the test of time. With our only advertisement till now in the yellow pages, we have predominantly relied on word of mouth for our ongoing success. Good relationships with clients and quality builders, has enabled us to succeed, and it is from this foundation that we anticipate our continued success in the future will stem from.
